Kipinä Software is growing and evolving, and now our team of top talent is getting a new addition: from the beginning of April, Jari Huilla will start as Kipinä's Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Jari's unique journey into technology started at the age of 9 with coding and his career took off at the age of 15 at Nokia Research Center. That's more than 20 years later, and it's included entrepreneurship, startups, growth companies, projects from small to large, and roles from coder to executive.

It is common for Kipinä's people to take a day away from their normal working context and projects, to learn from each other and gain a new perspective on teamwork and problem solving. In March, the gang got together for a full day to play a game of shipwreck. However, this Battleship day was somewhat different from what you might imagine from a game night.

The Code Philosophy Day, initiated by Kipinä experts, took place in January and brought together half of Kipinä to discuss the basics of programming. 2022 was Kipinä Software's first full financial year. Our turnover in Kipinä was 4,1 M€ (v. 2021 0,4M€). That is a figure that shows we have succeeded. We wanted to build something new, especially by believing in people and thinking about how we as a community could serve our customers even better. At the same time, it also shows that customers are really happy with us.

Kipinän Business Levi brought together digital decision makers from different industries and good discussions took place around the "round table", on the ski slope, on the slope and over dinner. My name is Juha Inkinen and I started at Kipinen in December 2021. I jokingly call myself Kipinä's Tampere office because, at least so far, I am the first Tampere resident in our rapidly growing team. What are your thoughts on my first year at Kipinä?
