Kipinä Software partnership model
Our story
Kipinä is a software company with a fair partnership model building sustainable future. In practice, our values are reflected in the unique, fairest corporate structure on the market and in the way we operate in the best interests of the customer. The structure is not based on individual rewards, but on the shared success of a team of similar top performers, respecting individual freedoms.
In addition to technical know-how, we are socially intelligent team players with whom cooperation is constructive. Not only do we work, but we find meaning in our own role in this community - from being an honest taxpayer to being at the forefront of the fight against climate change and sustainable development.
Our passion is to create something new and solve the challenges of business and sustainability with the help of technology, together with top professionals.
Mission statement
Kipinä is a hypothesis of our unique way of creating the digital heart of companies. We drive a transition where ICT development and the formula for a meaningful work life are crucially intertwined. The ignition of the inner spark creates people who genuinely care.
Motivation brings ownership and successes to both customers and creators. The 'good friction' required for innovation and the spirit of justice are one and the same; that is why we build growth and sustainable business based on the well-being of the team, not on numerical targets.
Sustainable and responsible ICT development is reflected in both small and large actions; we dare to act and guide our customers towards the right path when faced with major decisions, without forgetting the impact of the smallest details.
Team entrepreneurship and living our values in practice make Kipinä the most desired work community for software developers.
Company structure
Kipinä Software's organizational model is based on co-ownership, openness and responsibility. Ownership is divided between the founders (20%) and the experts (80%). The company's operational work, ie sales, marketing, human resources, recruitment, financial administration, law and other administrative tasks are in their own company, and the parallel companies of the experts are purely responsible for the service business, doing customer projects. Each subsidiary has decision-making power over its own affairs, but together we are Kipinä Software. All of our experts are also involved in the decision-making of Kipinä Software. Our organizational structure enables open information sharing, voluntary participation and influence in common affairs.
Kipinä operates in a closely with Luoto Company and a common ecosystem. Ecosystem companies Luoto Company, NorthCode, Vuolu Group, Asteroid, TrailOpeners and Heroe, as well as other partners and networks, complement Kipinä's service portfolio, e.g. project management, design, security, application development and other expertise. An example of this is Kipinä being part of the co-operation network www.arvojengi.fi.
Co-ownership
Joint ownership ensures transparent decision-making and a fair distribution of responsibilities and results between partners. Sufficiently balanced competence and work experience of the partners enable an equal division of responsibilities and freedoms. The community is only liable to each other, not to outsiders or supervisors.
Full transparency between partners also prevents the so-called free riding - all information is transparent and the low organizational structure allows unobstructed visibility into the activities of the partners. Trust, honesty and support for others enhance the development and knowledge capital of the community and thus the customer experience, which is the lifeblood of expert work. Everyone benefits from supporting and helping each other, as individuals and as a community.
Culture
Kipinä's culture looks like our people - we create it together. Any of us have the right to create traditions and ways to promote a good life. We take care of each other. Balance of life is important to us. We are all experienced professionals and many of us have family or other important time consuming aspects of life. In the Kipinä model, work is done and the good that results from the results is distributed fairly, so that there is time in life for things other than work.
In addition, our culture emphasizes 100% transparency from personal stories and open communication to monthly financial figures. We want to keep culture open and experimental, volunteer, we give it time - without a centrally managed cultural office.
